- F/m Emerald Life Sciences Innovation ETF (LFSC) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing primarily in equity securities of innovative life sciences companies selected through Emerald Mutual Fund Advisers Trust's proprietary 10-Step Research Process. The fund commits at least 80% of its net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes to such securities, encompassing biotechnology firms developing therapeutic applications via small molecules, antibodies, and nucleic acids; pharmaceutical companies producing and distributing medications; medical diagnostics providers offering imaging tests, molecular diagnostics, biomarker tests, genetic tests, tumor sequencing, and liquid biopsies; medical devices manufacturers creating instruments for prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or body function modification; healthcare services operators including hospitals, urgent care, and telemedicine; health-tech entities leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning for outcomes enhancement; and synthetic biology innovators engineering organisms for nutraceuticals, enzymes, and bio-based fuels. Equity investments include common and preferred stocks, depositary receipts, other investment companies, private placements, warrants, rights, and initial public offerings, with primary focus on U.S. companies and up to 20% in foreign firms listed on U.S. exchanges.
Launched on October 30, 2024, and trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market, the ETF is part of The RBB Fund, Inc., with F/m Investments LLC serving as investment adviser and Emerald Mutual Fund Advisers Trust as sub-adviser under the supervision of the adviser. Headquartered through its adviser and sub-adviser entities in the United States, with Emerald operations based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the fund targets institutional and retail investors seeking exposure to growth opportunities in the life sciences sector across small-, mid-, and large-capitalization companies.
