Business
Lloyds Engineering Works Limited operates as an integrated engineering solutions company specializing in design, manufacturing, fabrication, supply, erection, and commissioning of heavy engineering products and systems. Its core product portfolio includes mechanical, hydraulic, and structural equipment; process plant machinery; metallurgical and chemical plant components; marine loading and unloading arms; truck and wagon loading/unloading arms; columns; pressure vessels; dryers; boilers; equipment for power plants, steel plants, and nuclear plants; elevators; motors; and submersible pumps. The company serves sectors such as hydrocarbons, oil and gas, steel, power, nuclear, marine, ports, refineries, metallurgy, mining, railways, naval equipment, and defense across India and internationally. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Mumbai, India, Lloyds Engineering Works has evolved from purely mechanical engineering products to a multidisciplinary engineering platform. Recent strategic developments include the acquisition of Techno Industries, marking the company's entry into the high-growth elevator and escalator market. Additionally, it has signed an MoU to acquire the engineering division of Bhilai Engineering Corporation, enhancing its presence in metallurgy, mining, railways, naval, and defense sectors. The company also entered a strategic partnership with Fincantieri S.p.A. to locally manufacture critical naval propulsion technologies for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, supporting India's defense manufacturing self-reliance. Furthermore, a recent collaboration with Japanese TB Global Technologies focuses on manufacturing, selling, and maintaining TBG products in the Indian market, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative to indigenize over 70% of components. Lloyds Engineering Works provides a range of fabricated steel products including process piping spools, steel structures, skids, pedestrian bridges, platforms, tanks, vessels, and aluminum structures primarily targeting oil and gas, construction, desalination, and power sectors. Its operational facilities are equipped with advanced machinery such as hydraulic plate bending machines, horizontal boring machines, vertical turret lathes, hydraulic presses, and NC tube bending equipment to support large-scale fabrication and heavy engineering demands. The company is currently undergoing a significant transformation involving acquisitions and strategic expansions, such as acquiring a majority stake in Techno Industries Private Limited, taking control of Metalfab Hightech Private Limited, and investing in Lloyds Infrastructure and Construction Limited. These moves are designed to broaden its product range and geographic footprint while positioning Lloyds Engineering Works as a key partner to global EPC consultants and a trusted supplier to strategic Indian markets. Overall, Lloyds Engineering Works Limited operates as a diversified engineering enterprise delivering comprehensive solutions across multiple industrial verticals with recent emphasis on defense and strategic sectors, underpinned by significant acquisitions, partnerships, and technological collaborations in India and beyond.
