(LONE) is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, and production of unconventional oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and natural gas properties, primarily focused on the Eagle Ford Shale play across approximately 53,000 net acres in 11 South Texas counties including Dimmit, La Salle, Frio, Gonzales, Karnes, Fayette, Wilson, DeWitt, Lavaca, Brazos, and Robertson. The company operates high-quality assets in the crude oil and condensate windows of the Western, Central, and Eastern Eagle Ford, with roughly 97% of its locations operated directly and 94% of net acreage held by production, supporting approximately 240 gross (135 net) horizontal drilling locations; it targets exploration and production activities for energy sector customers including refiners, utilities, and industrial users throughout the United States. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Lonestar completed a financial restructuring in December 2020 with a new $225 million senior secured revolver and $60 million term loan, enhancing liquidity with $20.7 million in post-emergence cash; in July 2021, it entered a definitive all-stock merger agreement with Penn Virginia Corporation valued at $370 million, which closed in October 2021, resulting in Lonestar operating as a subsidiary of the rebranded Ranger Oil Corporation and expanding combined Eagle Ford production to nearly 40,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day with over 750 drilling locations and synergies exceeding $20 million annually.
