Livent Corporation (NYSE: LTHM), a leading producer of performance lithium compounds, manufactures battery-grade lithium hydroxide, lithium carbonate, butyllithium, high purity lithium metal, lithium chloride, lithium phosphate and specialty lithium chemicals including pharmaceutical-grade lithium carbonate for applications in energy storage such as electric vehicle batteries and stationary storage systems, polymers for agrochemicals pharmaceuticals synthetic rubber and tires, aerospace alloys and industrial greases; the company operates one reportable segment serving electric vehicle OEMs battery manufacturers and diverse industries worldwide from manufacturing facilities in the United States including Bessemer City North Carolina and Philadelphia Pennsylvania headquarters Argentina China the United Kingdom Japan and Singapore following its founding in 2018 as a spin-off from FMC Corporation; Livent merged with Allkem Limited in January 2024 to form Arcadium Lithium plc enhancing its global scale product range and vertical integration across lithium production and in March 2025 Arcadium Lithium was acquired by Rio Tinto for $6.7 billion positioning its assets including the Nemaska Lithium stake and Rincon project under Rio Tinto Lithium with plans to expand production capacity beyond 200000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent annually by 2028.
