Business
Socfinasia S.A. is an agro-industrial investment holding company specialized in the cultivation, extraction, processing, and global commercialization of tropical agricultural commodities, principally oil palm products and natural rubber. Founded in 1972 and headquartered in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, the company operates as the Southeast Asian plantation holding arm of the Luxembourg-based Socfin Group (Société Financière des Caoutchoucs). Socfinasia manages more than 52,000 hectares of agricultural concessions and agro-industrial assets situated in Indonesia and Cambodia. In Indonesia, the company operates through its key operational subsidiary, PT Socfin Indonesia (PT Socfindo), which manages integrated oil palm and rubber estates in North Sumatra and Aceh. In Cambodia, the company oversees rubber plantation and milling operations through subsidiaries including Socfin-KCD and Coviphama in Mondulkiri Province. The company's core products and services comprise: crude palm oil (CPO) extracted from fresh fruit bunches for the food processing, oleochemical, and consumer goods industries; crude palm kernel oil (CPKO) and palm kernel expeller (PKE) derived from on-site kernel crushing; processed natural rubber grades, including technically specified rubber (TSR), Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR 10, SIR 20), Standard Cambodian Rubber (CSR), and concentrated latex destined for international tire manufacturers and industrial rubber fabricators; high-yield, disease-resistant oil palm hybrid seeds and germinated seed varieties marketed under the proprietary Socfindo breeding program; agronomic laboratory testing, soil analysis, and crop advisory services; and integrated plantation management and processing infrastructure. In recent major corporate developments, Socfinasia and its parent organization executed significant ownership and structural reorganizations following the privatization and delisting of Socfin in late 2024, which led long-standing industrial shareholder Bolloré Group to reclassify its holding into a non-controlling financial stake, consolidating operational control under the Fabri family. Concurrently, the group completed 100 percent Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification across its planted palm estates, integrated European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) frameworks into its regulatory reporting, completed divestments of non-core regional assets across the broader group, and deployed capital toward upgrading rubber processing facilities in Cambodia and methane-capture biogas installations across its Indonesian mills.
