Business
Lake Victoria Gold Ltd. is a gold exploration and development company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol LVG.V that focuses on growth and consolidation within the prolific Lake Victoria Goldfield in Tanzania. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, with operations centered in Tanzania including offices in Dar es Salaam, the company holds a 100% interest in the Tembo Project adjacent to Barrick Gold's Bulyanhulu Mine featuring over 50,000 meters of drilling across targets such as Ngula 1, Nyakagwe East, and Nyakagwe Village; the fully permitted Imwelo Gold Project west of AngloGold Ashanti's Geita Mine supported by historical resource estimates and a 2021 pre-feasibility study indicating near-term production potential through open-pit and underground mining with a processing plant; and additional licenses in the Lake Victoria Goldfield district for gold deposit acquisition, exploration, and development. The company was formerly known as Tembo Gold Corp. until its name change in December 2023. Recent developments include the completion of the Imwelo Mining License acquisition from Tanzoz Minerals Ltd. in March 2025 via issuance of 24 million shares making the seller a major shareholder and appointment of Seth Dickinson as COO; a strategic partnership with Taifa Group through equity investment and a private placement of 16 million shares for C$3.52 million granting Taifa 10.86% ownership with Taifa Mining to handle contract mining and civil works at Imwelo; a prepaid forward gold arrangement with Monetary Metals & Co. in November 2024 for 7,000 ounces to fund Imwelo startup; multiple private placements of convertible debentures totaling up to C$1 million in 2024; conversion of Tembo Prospecting License to four Mining Licenses; a May 2025 non-binding letter of intent with Nyati Resources for small-scale gold development at Tembo; a 3,000-meter RC drilling program at Ngula 1 under a new mining license granted in April 2025; and Q3 2025 exploration updates from Barrick on former Tembo-area licenses sold in 2022 alongside engagement of Nesch Mintech for due diligence on a Nyati-owned processing plant.
