- LHA Market State Alpha Seeker ETF (MSVX) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to provide positive returns across multiple market cycles with low correlation to U.S. equity or fixed income markets; it invests long or short in instruments linked to the performance and volatility of the S&P 500 Index and CBOE Volatility Index (VIX), including index-based and actively-managed ETFs, leveraged, inverse and inverse-leveraged ETFs, exchange-traded notes (ETNs), options, futures contracts, U.S. Treasury securities, and cash equivalents. The fund employs proprietary statistical analyses developed by Thompson Capital Management LLC and exclusively licensed to investment adviser Little Harbor Advisors, LLC to estimate U.S. equity market direction by comparing short-term and longer-term volatility expectations via VIX futures, options prices, and implied volatility indexes, resulting in dynamic adjustments to portfolio net exposure that may include long or short positions, option spreads, or cash holdings. Launched on May 13, 2020 and listed on the Cboe BZX Exchange, Inc., the fund is part of the LHA Market State Shares ETF family managed by Little Harbor Advisors, LLC, a boutique investment firm founded in 2004 and headquartered in Marblehead, Massachusetts. In a major strategic change, the Board of Trustees of ETF Series Solutions, upon recommendation from Little Harbor Advisors, approved the closure and liquidation of the fund, with liquidation of portfolio assets beginning on or about December 6, 2024, cessation of new creation unit orders before the December 20, 2024 liquidation date, trading halt prior to market open on that date, and pro rata cash distributions to remaining shareholders thereafter, reflecting costs of closure in the final net asset value. The fund targets institutional investors, financial advisors, and portfolio managers seeking tactical, volatility-responsive strategies outside traditional style-box approaches, with operations focused on U.S. markets through its Marblehead-based adviser, which also oversees related ETFs such as LHA Market State Tactical Beta ETF (MSTB), LHA Market State Tactical Q ETF (MSTQ), and LHA Risk-Managed Income ETF (RMIF).
