- Direxion Shares ETF Trust – Direxion Daily MU Bear 1X ETF is a U.S.-domiciled, non-diversified exchange-traded fund that seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, of 100% of the inverse, or opposite, of the daily performance of Micron Technology, Inc. common stock. Trading on The Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker MUD, the fund provides a single-stock inverse trading vehicle for investors seeking tactical bearish exposure to Micron Technology’s daily share-price movements. The fund pursues its objective primarily through financial instruments, including swap agreements and options linked to Micron Technology, rather than through direct short sales of the underlying equity; its portfolio may also hold cash, cash equivalents, U.S. government securities, money-market instruments and other collateral investments. The fund’s shares are created and redeemed in large blocks by authorized participants and are offered to institutional and sophisticated individual market participants seeking actively managed, short-term exposure to the semiconductor and memory-chip industry through Micron Technology.
MUD was formed on October 10, 2024, and is sponsored within the Direxion Shares ETF Trust family. Rafferty Asset Management, LLC, doing business as Direxion, serves as investment adviser; ALPS Distributors, Inc. acts as distributor. Direxion, founded in 1997 and headquartered in New York, New York, develops exchange-traded products for tactical trading, risk-management and thematic-investment applications, including leveraged and inverse index, sector, commodity and single-stock ETFs. The Direxion Daily MU Bear 1X ETF targets investors that monitor positions frequently and understand the risks associated with daily-reset inverse exposure, including derivatives, correlation, concentration, volatility and compounding risk; it is not designed to provide the inverse of Micron Technology’s cumulative return for periods longer than one trading day.
Recent operational developments include a 1-for-10 reverse split of the fund’s issued and outstanding shares, effective after market close on March 9, 2026, with split-adjusted trading beginning on Nasdaq on March 10, 2026. The transaction reduced the number of shares outstanding and increased the per-share net asset value and market price on an approximately proportional basis, without changing the aggregate market value of investors’ holdings other than cash paid for fractional shares. The reverse split also resulted in a CUSIP change effective March 10, 2026.
