- APB Resources Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company that specializes in the design, engineering, fabrication, and manufacturing of specialized heavy process equipment and pressure vessels for the oil and gas, petrochemical, oleochemical, chemical, power, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, the company operates primarily through two core business segments: Fabrication and Non-Destructive Testing. APB Resources Berhad manufactures and supplies an extensive portfolio of custom-engineered industrial process equipment, including shell and tube heat exchangers; high-pressure vessels; process columns and towers, such as distillation, absorption, and fractionating columns; chemical and petrochemical reactors; storage tanks and silos; heavy industrial boilers; specialized pressure piping spools; and custom heavy structural steel fabrications. In addition to equipment manufacturing, the company provides technical and quality assurance services through its subsidiaries, including non-destructive testing (NDT) services such as radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, and eddy current testing; metallurgical examination and failure analysis; post-weld heat treatment; industrial blasting and coating; plant turnaround maintenance; and mechanical installation services. The company serves multinational plant owners, industrial operators, and engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) contractors across Malaysia, Southeast Asia, the broader Asia-Pacific region, and global export markets through operating subsidiaries including Amalgamated Piping & Boiler Sdn. Bhd., Prescan Sdn. Bhd., and Era-Fab Sdn. Bhd. In recent strategic developments, APB Resources Berhad has executed a major expansion to diversify its earnings base beyond traditional heavy engineering into the high-tech sector, notably completing the acquisition of a 10.4 percent strategic equity stake in Globetronics Technology Bhd, a prominent outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) and sensor packaging company. Alongside this technology expansion, APB Resources Berhad has implemented significant boardroom and management restructuring, enhanced fabrication automation capabilities at its Shah Alam facilities, and initiated strategic realignments to target emerging opportunities in industrial automation, renewable energy infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing.
