Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad is an investment holding company that operates primarily as an engineering, infrastructure construction, and concession management conglomerate. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company conducts operations across five core business segments: Engineering and Construction, Concession, Oil and Gas, Plantation, and Property Development. The group executes projects primarily in Malaysia, with international project exposure across Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, and India. The company provides an extensive range of infrastructure, industrial, and commercial products and services, including: civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering works; earthworks, tunneling, highway, and toll expressway construction; railway and mass rapid transit (MRT) station infrastructure development; construction of educational, healthcare, and governmental institutional complexes; long-term concession asset management, highway operation, and toll management for the East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE); private finance initiative (PFI) hospital concession asset management and biomedical facility maintenance for the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) Medical Centre; offshore marine logistics, port supply base management, and marine support services through the Tok Bali Supply Base; supply and distribution of marine gas oil, marine fuels, and specialized lubricants at the Kemaman Supply Base; cultivation of oil palms and the production and processing of crude palm oil and palm kernel; residential and commercial property development; hospitality operations, resort management, and hotel accommodation services; fabrication, manufacturing, and distribution of precast concrete products and industrialized building systems (IBS); and the rental and leasing of heavy construction machinery, plant equipment, and specialized earth-moving apparatus. In recent developments, the group has secured major infrastructure and public sector contract awards to expand its construction order book beyond RM1.1 billion. Key awards include a RM430.06 million contract from Malaysia's Public Works Department (JKR) for the construction of the Cameron Highlands bypass and road upgrading works on Federal Routes FT59 and FT434; a RM315.90 million upgrading and renovation contract for the Istana Abu Bakar in Pekan, Pahang; a RM205.43 million development contract from the Pahang Islamic Religious Council for the Sultan Ahmad Shah City Mosque and Islamic Centre Complex in Kuantan; and a RM63.44 million bridge construction contract at Kampung Binjai, Kuala Lipis. Operationally, the group achieved a milestone with the partial opening of the 36.16-kilometer East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) concession project, while entering a strategic partnership with hospitality operator PRISM to manage and upgrade the Residence Inn Cherating. Concurrently, the group continues to execute strategic balance sheet management and restructuring efforts to address project finance overheads and resolve historical contractor winding-up claims filed against its primary contracting subsidiary, Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd.
