Business
Citaglobal Berhad is a Malaysia-based diversified conglomerate engaged in civil engineering and construction, renewable energy and power generation, telecommunications network services, manufacturing, and oil and gas support services. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company operates primarily across Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian region, serving public sector utilities, government agencies, telecommunications operators, industrial developers, and commercial enterprises. The company organizes its commercial activities into several core operating segments: Civil Engineering and Construction, Energy and Renewable Energy, Telecommunications, Manufacturing and Trading, and Oil and Gas Services. Through its Civil Engineering and Construction division, Citaglobal provides engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) services for large-scale infrastructure; highway, road, and bridge construction; railway infrastructure development; earthworks; drainage systems; and commercial and residential building construction. Through its Energy and Renewable Energy division, the company develops and supplies utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems; commercial and industrial rooftop solar installations; advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS), including the proprietary MYBESS solution; biomass and waste-to-energy power solutions; and energy management systems. Through its Telecommunications division, Citaglobal delivers end-to-end network infrastructure solutions; fiber-optic cable laying and civil engineering works; telecommunication tower fabrication, erection, and maintenance; in-building coverage solutions; and 5G network deployment services. Through its Manufacturing and Trading division, the company manufactures and distributes cold-drawn bright steel bars; wire mesh; fabricated steel components; and specialized engineering materials for the industrial and construction sectors. Through its Oil and Gas Services division, Citaglobal offers plant maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services; fabrication of pressure vessels, structural skids, and piping systems; and offshore and onshore process equipment support. In recent years, Citaglobal has executed a comprehensive strategic transformation to transition from a legacy civil engineering contractor into a green energy and technology-driven infrastructure group. The company formally changed its name from WZ Satu Berhad to Citaglobal Berhad in 2022 to reflect this repositioning. To expand its operational scale and order book, the group completed the acquisition of Citaglobal Engineering Services Sdn Bhd, consolidating its turnkey engineering capabilities. In the energy transition sector, Citaglobal formed a joint venture with Genetec Technology Berhad to develop and commercialize MYBESS, Malaysia's first locally developed battery energy storage system. The company has also established major international strategic alliances, including a collaboration framework with UAE-based clean energy firm Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC (Masdar) to jointly develop renewable energy projects across solar, wind, and battery storage; a partnership with Indonesia's PT Pertamina Power Indonesia to collaborate on renewable energy and battery storage initiatives; a joint venture with China-based Shanghai SUS Environment Co., Ltd. for waste-to-energy plant development; and a collaboration with TUS-Holdings Co., Ltd. for technology park and green innovation projects. In tandem with these expansions, Citaglobal has streamlined its portfolio by divesting non-core bauxite mining assets and rationalizing legacy businesses to focus capital and resources on sustainable infrastructure, smart city development, and clean power generation.
