Business
Destini Berhad is a Malaysia-based integrated engineering solutions provider and investment holding company specializing in the aviation and defence, marine, rail mobility, and energy sectors. Founded in 1991 as Satang Jaya Sdn Bhd and headquartered in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, the company delivers mission-critical equipment, systems integration, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services to commercial, government, and military clients across Malaysia, Singapore, China, the Middle East, Australia, and Europe. The company delivers its core products and services across four primary business segments: Aviation & Defence: maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aviation safety and survival equipment, including life rafts, life jackets, anti-g suits, parachutes, and breathing apparatus; certified servicing and inspection of military aircraft ejection seats as an accredited Martin-Baker Centre of Excellence; procurement and distribution of non-proprietary aircraft spares, components, and avionics; and the supply of defence munitions, tactical equipment, and rocket motors. Marine: design, fabrication, supply, and statutory inspection of lifeboats, fast rescue crafts, davit launch systems, winches, and offshore survival systems; supply and maintenance of marine fire protection and safety equipment; and shipbuilding, vessel modernization, conversion, and marine engineering services for commercial, coast guard, and naval vessels. Mobility: assembly, fabrication, refurbishment, and MRO of rail rolling stock, passenger coaches, electric train sets (ETS), and locomotives; supply and maintenance of rail bogies, brake components, and rail track equipment; and data-driven railway asset management, condition monitoring, and digital maintenance solutions. Energy: tubular handling, casing running, and well intervention support services for exploration and production operations in the oil and gas sector; maintenance and supply of specialized offshore drilling and production equipment; and engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic renewable energy systems. In recent corporate and operational developments, Destini Berhad has secured key long-term public sector contracts, expanded its rail portfolio, and restructured its financial profile. The company secured an 18-month extension from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence for a non-proprietary aircraft spare parts supply contract with a ceiling value of RM403.75 million for the Royal Malaysian Air Force, extending performance through December 2026. Additionally, Destini secured a three-year contract valued at approximately RM33.05 million for the maintenance of airborne safety and survival equipment through late 2027. In the rail mobility sector, its subsidiary M Rail Technics Sdn Bhd accepted an engineering and MRO contract from the Ministry of Transport valued at approximately RM71 million for Class 93/2 Electric Train Sets. To optimize its capital structure, eliminate legacy debt, and sharpen operational focus on core competencies, Destini Berhad executed a series of corporate exercises, including a rights issue with warrants, a share consolidation, private placement exercises, and the corporate streamlining and striking off of non-core, dormant subsidiaries.
