Business
Gadang Holdings Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company engaged in civil engineering and infrastructure construction, property development, utilities management, and building materials trading. Founded in 1993 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company operates across domestic and regional markets, with key operations situated in Malaysia and Indonesia. Gadang Holdings Berhad conducts its business through specialized subsidiaries, including Gadang Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd, Gadang Land Sdn Bhd, and Regional Utilities Ventures Sdn Bhd, serving governmental agencies, commercial developers, utility authorities, and retail property buyers. The company operates through four core business segments: Construction, Property Development, Utility, and Investment Holding and Others. The Construction division provides comprehensive civil engineering and building services; execution of earthworks, site preparation, and foundation engineering; construction of highways, expressways, bridges, and interchanges; development of urban rail transit infrastructure, including elevated viaducts, guideways, and transit stations; construction of commercial high-rise buildings, residential towers, hospitals, and educational facilities; engineering of industrial facilities, industrial parks, and high-tech data centers; and provision of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering works. The Property Development division designs, develops, and markets real estate projects; master-planned residential townships featuring terrace houses, semi-detached residences, and bungalows; multi-storey condominiums and serviced apartments; commercial shop offices, retail centers, and integrated mixed-use developments; and ongoing property management and asset maintenance services. The Utility division engages in sustainable infrastructure and concession services; development, construction, operation, and maintenance of mini-hydroelectric power generation facilities; development and operation of large-scale solar photovoltaic power plants; operation of municipal potable water treatment plants; and long-term water supply concessions. The Investment Holding and Others division provides group-wide corporate management, investment administration, project management consultancy, and wholesale distribution and trading of construction materials, ready-mix aggregates, and equipment. In recent operational developments, Gadang Holdings Berhad has strategically expanded its construction order book and utilities footprint across high-growth industrial and infrastructure sectors. The company has secured major infrastructure and building construction contracts, including critical civil and structural packages for the Johor Bahru-Singapore Rapid Transit System Link, large-scale industrial data center construction contracts in Peninsular Malaysia, and government-commissioned flood mitigation and highway upgrade projects. Within its utility operations, the company has progressed large-scale solar energy initiatives, expanded rooftop solar offerings, and optimized the operational capacity of its run-of-river mini-hydro power plants and water concession facilities in Indonesia. Furthermore, the group has continued to replenish its strategic landbank in prime growth corridors such as Cyberjaya and the Greater Klang Valley, forming strategic joint ventures and launching new phases of residential developments to meet expanding urbanization demand.
