- GPP Resources Berhad is an investment holding company specializing in renewable energy engineering solutions and the manufacturing of sustainable agro-waste wood products. Founded in 2004 and headquartered in Ulu Tiram, Johor, Malaysia, the company is listed on the LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad. GPP Resources operates primarily through two core business divisions: Renewable Energy and Manufacturing and Trading, focusing on waste-to-wealth technologies that convert industrial and agricultural residues into clean energy and commercial-grade materials.
In its Renewable Energy division, the company provides comprehensive turnkey solutions and specialized engineering services. Its principal offerings include full-scope engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) services for biogas, syngas, and natural gas power generation facilities; long-term operations, maintenance, and asset management (O&M) for distributed energy plants; assembly, integration, and supply of reciprocating gas engine generator sets as an approved local engine assembler under the Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) framework; and grid-connection engineering facilitating Feed-in Tariff (FiT) renewable energy integration for industrial agro-processors and palm oil mill operators.
In its Manufacturing and Trading division, GPP Resources manufactures value-added engineered wood products by upcycling felled oil palm trunks (OPT). Its product portfolio comprises commercial and industrial-grade OPT plywood panels manufactured via proprietary utility-patented peeling, treatment, and resin-bonding technologies; structural core veneers; eco-friendly composite boards; and traded agricultural biomass feedstock. Operating a manufacturing facility with an annual output capacity of up to 30,000 cubic meters of OPT plywood, the group serves international construction, packaging, and furniture manufacturing industries across markets including Japan, the Middle East, Turkey, Mexico, and domestic Southeast Asia.
The group executes its business activities through key operating subsidiaries, including Green Energy Resources (M) Sdn. Bhd., which leads renewable energy EPCC and generator assembly operations; Profina Plywood Sdn. Bhd., which manages OPT plywood production; and Green Palm Products Sdn. Bhd., which holds proprietary manufacturing intellectual property and utility innovations. Geographically, the company's energy project footprint and technical services span Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and West Africa.
In recent corporate and operational developments, GPP Resources has undertaken strategic restructuring to rationalize its asset base and optimize operational efficiency. The company completed the divestment of its 51 percent equity interest in Gambang Power Plant Sdn. Bhd. through Green Energy Resources (M) Sdn. Bhd. to eliminate dormant liabilities and reallocate capital toward active revenue-generating units. Additionally, the group executed an acquisition of freehold land in Johor Bahru to support long-term logistical expansion and continued operational consolidation across its core renewable energy and OPT processing divisions.
