Business
Jag Capital Berhad, formerly known as KUB Malaysia Berhad, is a Malaysia-based diversified investment holding company operating primarily in the energy, industrial manufacturing, information and communications technology (ICT), and property sectors. Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company conducts operations across domestic and regional markets, serving household, commercial, industrial, power utility, and telecommunications customers. The company delivers its core products and services across dedicated business segments: Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) operations, managed through subsidiaries such as Solar Gas Sdn. Bhd., encompassing the importation, bottling, bulk storage, marketing, and distribution of LPG cylinders and bulk supply under the Solar Gas brand for residential, commercial, and industrial applications; Power and Cables, managed through Central Cables Berhad, comprising the design, manufacturing, and distribution of low, medium, and high-voltage power cables, aluminum conductors, copper wire, armored cables, and specialized instrumentation cables for electrical grids and infrastructure projects; Building Materials, operated through the DOE group, consisting of the manufacturing and trading of plumbing fittings, sanitaryware, water taps, valves, and architectural hardware; ICT and Telecommunications, provided through KUB Telekomunikasi Sdn. Bhd. (Kubtel), comprising telecommunications network infrastructure solutions, system integration, equipment assembly and commissioning, transmission system supply, and technical maintenance services; and Property Management, involving commercial real estate investment, asset management, and property leasing. In recent strategic developments, the company underwent a major corporate restructuring and ownership consolidation initiated by its controlling shareholder, JAG Capital Holdings Sdn. Bhd. In 2024, the company completed the acquisition of an equity interest exceeding 98% in Central Cables Berhad from JAG Capital Holdings for RM119.42 million, funded via the issuance of redeemable convertible preference shares (RCPS) and a subsequent mandatory takeover offer, significantly reinforcing its core industrial cable manufacturing division. To reflect this controlling shareholding structure and strategic diversification, the company officially rebranded and changed its name from KUB Malaysia Berhad to Jag Capital Berhad in November 2025, trading on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia under the stock short name JAGCPTL.
