Lion Industries Corporation Berhad is a Malaysia-based diversified industrial conglomerate primarily engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of long steel products, trading of building materials and petroleum products, and property development. The company operates through three principal business segments: Steel, Building Materials and Petroleum, and Others. The Steel division manufactures and markets a comprehensive portfolio of upstream and downstream steel products, including steel billets; high-tensile deformed steel bars and mild steel round bars for civil construction and infrastructure; low, medium, and high carbon wire rods for wire mesh, welding electrodes, cold heading, fasteners, and engineering applications; hot briquetted iron; direct reduced iron; and scrap metal recycling and trading services. This division also produces industrial gases, including oxygen, nitrogen, and argon, to support steelmaking and industrial manufacturing processes. The Building Materials and Petroleum division distributes and trades building materials, hardware, and petroleum products, including commercial fuels and automotive and industrial lubricants under the proprietary HI-REV and POS 1 brand names. The Others segment encompasses property development, property investment, agriculture, and investment holding activities. Founded in 1924 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the company operates key manufacturing facilities across Peninsular Malaysia, serving domestic infrastructure and construction sectors as well as export markets across Southeast Asia. In recent operational and strategic developments, Lion Industries completed the strategic divestment of its Antara Steel Mills hot briquetted iron manufacturing facility in Labuan to Esteel Enterprise, strengthening cash reserves and refocusing resources on core long steel manufacturing operations through Amsteel Mills Sdn Bhd and Eden Flame Sdn Bhd. Furthermore, the company has undertaken operational rationalization initiatives across its rolling mills, implemented energy efficiency upgrades to lower carbon intensity, and monetized non-core land and property assets in Selangor and Johor to optimize balance sheet liquidity and support long-term operational resilience.
