Pestech International Berhad is an integrated electrical power technology and infrastructure engineering company based in Malaysia. Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, the company operates primarily as an engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) solutions provider across the power transmission, distribution, rail infrastructure, and sustainable energy sectors. Pestech operates through five core business divisions: High Voltage and Extra High Voltage Substation; Transmission Line and Power Distribution; Rail Electrification and Signalling; Renewable Energy; and Smart Grid Automation. Its comprehensive product and service offerings comprise the design, engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning of conventional air-insulated and gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) substations rated up to 500kV; engineering and installation of high-voltage overhead transmission lines and underground cabling networks; turnkey rail electrical and mechanical systems, including traction power substations, overhead catenary systems (OCS), third-rail power distribution, signalling, telecommunications, and trackwork for urban transit and mainline railway networks; large-scale solar (LSS) photovoltaic farms, industrial and commercial rooftop solar installations, and utility-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS); supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), automated meter reading (AMR), and distribution automation platforms; and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations and energy management platforms. The company delivers its engineering solutions to state-owned power utilities, public transportation authorities, independent power producers, and industrial conglomerates across Southeast Asia and Oceania, maintaining established operations and project assets in Malaysia, Cambodia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea. In recent corporate developments, Pestech entered into a major strategic alliance and equity partnership with IJM Corporation Berhad, which acquired a substantial stake in the group to strengthen its balance sheet and jointly undertake major infrastructure projects, including the turnkey automated people mover (APM) Aerotrain replacement project at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in collaboration with international rail technology partners. Concurrently, the group has executed operational rationalization, balance sheet restructuring initiatives, and expanded its bidding pipeline for clean energy transition, cross-border grid interconnections, and digital grid modernization tenders across the ASEAN region.
