SKB Shutters Corporation Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding and manufacturing company specializing in the design, engineering, fabrication, and distribution of roller shutters, fire-resistant security doors, and steel storage racking systems. Founded in 1957 and headquartered in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia, the company operates primarily through two core business segments: Roller Shutters and Steel Racking Systems. SKB Shutters caters to industrial, commercial, infrastructure, and residential clients, providing specialized safety and material handling solutions across Malaysia and international markets. The company manufactures and distributes an extensive portfolio of products, which includes insulated and non-insulated fire-rated roller shutters; high-speed fabric and spiral doors; transparent polycarbonate and vision slat security shutters; motorized and manual security shutters; automatic flood barriers; cyclone-resistant doors; fire-rated, acoustic, blast-resistant, and cleanroom steel doors; oversized industrial swing and sliding doors; swimming pool shutter systems; selective pallet racking; PalletLock heavy-duty storage racks; drive-in, drive-through, and double-deep racking systems; cantilever racking; multi-tier shelving and structural mezzanine floor systems; light-to-medium duty boltless shelving; and racking infrastructure designed for automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). In addition to manufacturing, the group offers end-to-end technical services, including architectural and structural consultation; customized engineering and design; site measurement; turnkey installation; regulatory and fire compliance testing; repair and retrofitting; and ongoing preventive maintenance. SKB Shutters maintains an international footprint, distributing and exporting its products to more than 40 countries across Southeast Asia, East Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, and South Asia. The group executes its primary operational activities through key subsidiaries, including SKB Shutters Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd., SKB Storage Industries Sdn. Bhd., SKB Shutters Trading Sdn. Bhd., and SKB Shutters (S) Pte. Ltd. In recent operational developments, SKB Shutters has undertaken a major manufacturing expansion by developing a state-of-the-art production facility spanning approximately 9.8 acres at Eco Business Park V in Puncak Alam, Selangor. This purpose-built plant is designed to replace and scale operations from its legacy Kota Damansara factory, integrating fully automated roll-forming and fabrication lines to boost production capacity, improve operational efficiencies, and incorporate sustainable features such as rooftop solar photovoltaic installations and rainwater harvesting systems. Strategically, the company has expanded its high-margin offerings to capture growing demand from regional data center developments, advanced logistics hubs, and modern industrial parks, reinforcing product compliance with international fire safety and storage standards, including Underwriters Laboratories (UL), British Standards Institution (BSI), and updated Australian racking safety standards.
