- TDM Berhad is a Malaysia-based investment holding company that operates primarily in the oil palm plantation and healthcare services sectors. Founded on December 1, 1965, and headquartered in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia, the company operates as a government-linked corporation with principal shareholding held by Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd and is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia. TDM Berhad structures its business activities across two main operating divisions: Plantation and Healthcare.
The Plantation division, operated through its subsidiary TDM Plantation Sdn Bhd, engages in upstream agricultural operations, oil palm cultivation, and agro-processing. Its principal products and services comprise the harvesting and processing of fresh fruit bunches; the extraction and milling of crude palm oil; the processing and supply of palm kernels; the production of bio-organic fertilizers and compost generated from empty fruit bunch biomass; and the provision of estate management and agricultural consultancy services to third-party smallholders and institutions.
The Healthcare division, operating under the brand Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI Healthcare), owns and operates a network of private specialist community hospitals catering to retail, corporate, and insured patient segments. The group's medical facility network includes Kuala Terengganu Specialist Hospital in Terengganu, Kuantan Medical Centre in Pahang, Kelana Jaya Medical Centre in Selangor, Taman Desa Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, and KMI Tawau Medical Centre in Sabah. Through these institutions, the company provides inpatient and outpatient healthcare services; 24-hour accident, emergency, and trauma care; general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures; obstetrics and gynecology; pediatrics and neonatology; internal medicine, cardiology, nephrology, and gastroenterology; medical diagnostic imaging services including magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography scanning, mammography, and ultrasound; clinical laboratory testing and pathology; physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and rehabilitation; in-house and retail dispensary pharmacy operations; and customized corporate wellness and executive health screening packages.
In recent operational and strategic developments, TDM Berhad has actively expanded its healthcare network while optimizing its agribusiness footprint. KMI Healthcare has accelerated its expansion strategy via asset-light development models, announcing the development and leasing of the 100-bed KMI Bertam Medical Centre in Penang, the appointment of a developer for the KMI Chukai Medical Centre in Terengganu, and progressive facility expansion and upgrading programs at KMI Tawau Medical Centre in Sabah. To streamline core plantation operations and mitigate cross-border operating risks, the group has pursued the strategic divestment of its non-core Indonesian plantation subsidiaries, PT Rafi Kamajaya Abadi and PT Sawit Rezki Abadi in West Kalimantan. Concurrently, TDM Berhad continues to advance its environmental and operational sustainability initiatives by expanding biogas and bio-composting capacity across its processing facilities and maintaining Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification across its Malaysian estate and mill operations.
