- Zecon Bhd. is a Malaysia-based investment holding, infrastructure construction, property development, and concession management company. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, the company operates primarily across civil engineering, building construction, healthcare asset concessions, real estate development, integrated facilities management, and sustainable technology infrastructure. Zecon operates through four principal business segments: Construction, Concession, Property Development, and Service & Healthcare.
The Construction division provides comprehensive civil engineering and general contracting services, including the design, engineering, procurement, and construction of highways, bridges, and interchanges; site formation, earthworks, and municipal drainage systems; water supply schemes, treatment plants, and utility networks; marine and coastal engineering works; and commercial, institutional, educational, and specialized healthcare buildings. The Concession division manages long-term public-private partnership (PPP) and private finance initiative (PFI) infrastructure assets, encompassing the 30-year concession for the design, development, asset financing, and maintenance of the Hospital Pakar Kanak-Kanak Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HPKK UKM) pediatric specialist hospital in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, administered through its subsidiary Zecon Medicare Sdn. Bhd. The Property Development division undertakes master-planned township developments, commercial complexes, and residential estates, highlighted by the flagship multi-phase Kota Petra township development spanning over 3,000 acres in Petra Jaya, Kuching. The Service & Healthcare division delivers integrated facilities management (IFM), biomedical engineering maintenance services, mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance, cleansing and janitorial services, and asset lifecycle management for public healthcare complexes and institutional real estate.
In recent strategic developments, Zecon has expanded its operations into clean energy and digital infrastructure through the development of the Kota Petra Green Technology Park in Sarawak, which incorporates utility-scale solar photovoltaic power generation, renewable energy supply chains, and green data center park facilities structured to support regional digital economy initiatives. The company has also established strategic collaborations and joint development partnerships with institutional real estate investment funds, including Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB), to accelerate commercial, medical, and mixed-use development projects within the Kota Petra master plan. Furthermore, Zecon has executed financial and operational restructuring initiatives to optimize capital allocation, strengthen balance sheet liquidity, and monetize long-term concession cash flows derived from its healthcare asset portfolio. Zecon serves federal and state government agencies, public healthcare authorities, institutional investors, and commercial clients across East and West Malaysia.
