Mizuho recently completes the acquisition of Augusta & Co., a specialist financial advisory firm in the energy transition and renewables sector, in October 2025 to enhance its EMEA M&A capabilities; finalizes the transfer of its global custody business outside Japan to State Street in October 2025 following the February announcement; announces plans in July 2025 to acquire shares in Upsider Holdings and Augusta & Co to bolster leasing and advisory services; enters a strategic collaboration with Mercer in May 2025 for outsourced chief investment officer services in Japan; forms a partnership with Golub Capital in September 2024, acquiring a minority stake to distribute private credit products to Japanese investors; and signs memorandums with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund in November 2024 for an ETF launch in Saudi equities and capital market initiatives, alongside ongoing share repurchases and sustainability reporting updates.
