Business
Trio-Tech International is a global semiconductor services and equipment manufacturing company that provides third-party semiconductor testing, environmental screening, equipment manufacturing, and distribution services to the international electronics and semiconductor industries. Founded in 1958 and headquartered in Van Nuys, California, the company operates across four primary business segments: Testing Services, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Real Estate. In its Testing Services segment, the company operates specialized test facilities and laboratories that provide comprehensive environmental and electrical screening for semiconductor devices, including dynamic and static burn-in testing; thermal shock and temperature cycling; stabilization baking; centrifuge acceleration testing; fine and gross leak detection; highly accelerated stress testing (HAST); failure analysis; and qualification testing designed to detect structural and manufacturing defects prior to final assembly integration. In its Manufacturing segment, Trio-Tech designs, engineers, and manufactures front-end and back-end semiconductor test equipment and environmental systems, including Artic temperature-controlled chuck systems used in wafer probing and device characterization; component centrifuges; autoclave systems; pressurization systems; high-temperature burn-in chambers; custom burn-in boards and test fixtures; and gross leak bubble testers. In its Distribution segment, the company markets, sells, and services third-party semiconductor manufacturing equipment, cleanroom instrumentation, environmental test chambers, vibration test systems, and related components and consumables. The Real Estate segment manages commercial investment properties located in Chongqing, China. Trio-Tech serves integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), fabless semiconductor companies, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) providers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across the automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and aerospace markets. The company operates international subsidiaries and specialized testing facilities situated in the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China, including regional facilities in Suzhou, Tianjin, and Chongqing. In recent operational and strategic developments, Trio-Tech has expanded its testing capabilities and high-power burn-in capacities across its Southeast Asian and Chinese operations to address increasing demand for automotive-grade semiconductors, electric vehicle (EV) power modules, and advanced computing devices. The company has enhanced its proprietary Artic temperature chuck product line to support wide-bandgap materials such as silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) across extreme-temperature wafer-level test environments. Additionally, Trio-Tech has expanded its regional equipment distribution agreements and broadened its turnkey testing partnerships to accommodate advanced packaging qualification requirements across key semiconductor manufacturing hubs.
