Business
Sygnis S.A. is a Poland-based deep-tech hardware house and research and development company that develops, manufactures, and commercializes advanced additive manufacturing systems, scientific research instrumentation, and specialized engineering solutions. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Gdansk, Poland, with key research and engineering facilities in Warsaw, the company provides hardware and technology integration services to industrial enterprises, scientific laboratories, defense contractors, and academic institutions across Poland, Europe, and international markets. The company operates across four principal business segments: Additive Technologies and Proprietary Hardware, Biotechnology and Life Sciences, Scientific and Laboratory Equipment, and Contract Engineering and Prototyping Services. Its product and service offerings comprise proprietary additive hardware platforms, including SYGLASS, a specialized low-temperature glass 3D printing system; DEPO, a multi-material direct ink writing (DIW) and paste dispensing platform; F-NIS, a high-precision fiber-optic nano-printing system; Sygnis Bio Technologies bioprinting equipment and materials systems for life sciences and tissue engineering; Deployable Advanced Manufacturing (DAM) mobile containerized manufacturing units engineered for on-demand component fabrication in field and defense environments; and European Drone Factory (EDF) automated manufacturing and assembly lines for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The company also distributes third-party laboratory apparatus, including optical profilometers, scanning electron microscopes, micro-computed tomography systems, and specialized materials testing devices. Complementary service offerings include rapid prototyping and contract manufacturing via fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereolithography (SLA), digital light processing (DLP), selective laser sintering (SLS), and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS); precision computer numerical control (CNC) machining; polyurethane vacuum casting; rapid tooling and injection molding; and customized R&D and hardware engineering services. In recent corporate developments, Sygnis S.A., which trades on the Warsaw Stock Exchange NewConnect market under the ticker SYG following its corporate rebranding and restructuring from MODE S.A., has executed strategic portfolio adjustments and sector expansions. Following its 2022 acquisition of desktop and industrial 3D printer manufacturer Zmorph S.A., Sygnis completed the sale of its entire equity stake in Zmorph S.A. to Black Oak Property in May 2025 to optimize capital allocation, while retaining perpetual royalty-free licenses to core transferred technologies, share purchase rights, and performance-linked earn-outs. Concurrently, Sygnis has expanded its presence in the defense, aerospace, and dual-use technology markets by participating in specialized industrial consortia, advancing the commercialization of its containerized deployable manufacturing stations, and scaling automated production capabilities for first-person-view (FPV) drones to meet evolving European defense logistics and decentralized supply chain requirements.
