Business
Nautilus, Inc. (Ticker: NLS), now operating as BowFlex, Inc., designs, develops, sources, and markets cardio and strength fitness products and related accessories for consumer use in home and commercial settings; core offerings under the Bowflex brand include the Max Trainer, SelectTech adjustable dumbbells, Xtreme home gyms, Revolution home gyms, treadmills, ellipticals, and indoor cycling bikes; the Schwinn brand features upright bikes, indoor cycling bikes, treadmills, rowing machines, and the Classic Cruiser bike with digital app integration; the JRNY brand provides an adaptive digital fitness platform delivering real-time coaching, personalized workouts, motion tracking, and curated content via touchscreen or smart devices. The company operates through Direct and Retail segments, selling directly to consumers via e-commerce, television, catalogs, and call centers, and through independent retailers, with primary markets in the United States and Canada, and additional presence in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and international regions. Founded in 1986 and headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, with facilities in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; Shanghai, China; and distribution centers in Portland, Oregon; Columbus, Ohio; and Rotterdam, Netherlands, the company employs approximately 400-500 staff. In late 2023, Nautilus changed its name to BowFlex, Inc.; filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on March 5, 2024, amid post-pandemic demand normalization; and completed the sale of substantially all assets—including Bowflex, Schwinn, and JRNY brands—to Johnson Health Tech Retail, Inc. for $37.5 million cash in April 2024, following U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval, marking a major restructuring under new ownership while delisting from the NYSE.
