North Mountain Merger Corp. (NMMC) is a blank check company formed for the purpose of effecting a merger, capital stock exchange, asset acquisition, stock purchase, reorganization or similar business combination with one or more businesses; it has not conducted operations or generated revenues. Incorporated in 2020 and headquartered at 767 5th Avenue, 9th floor, New York, NY, the company targets businesses primarily in the financial technology segment of the financial services industry but may pursue opportunities in any sector. Its offerings as a special purpose acquisition company include up to $132.25 million in cash held in trust from its September 2020 initial public offering on the Nasdaq Capital Market, along with the capacity to secure additional PIPE financing for a target business combination. In December 2021, NMMC announced a proposed $1.2 billion business combination with Corcentric, Inc., a provider of payments, procurement, accounts payable and accounts receivable solutions, which was expected to generate $182 million in gross proceeds including a $50 million PIPE from investors such as Wellington Management; the deal mutually terminated in August 2022 due to unsatisfied closing conditions amid challenging market circumstances, leaving NMMC without a completed merger as of late 2025. The company is led by CEO Charles B. Bernicker, a former CardConnect executive, with Nicholas S. Dermatas as CFO and directors including Robert L. Metzger, Scott O'Callaghan and Douglas Pauls.
