Business
J.K. Cement Limited is a leading Indian manufacturer and supplier of grey cement, white cement, wall putty, gypsum plaster, tile adhesives, and wood finishes. The company operates primarily in the cement industry, providing a comprehensive product portfolio that includes premium grey cement with an installed capacity of approximately 25.26 million tons per annum, and white cement with a global manufacturing capacity of 1.12 million tons per annum. It also produces wall putty with a capacity of around 1.33 million tons per annum. J.K. Cement serves both domestic and international markets, with its white cement products marketed in 36 countries worldwide. The company has significant manufacturing operations in India, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and new greenfield expansions, as well as international subsidiaries such as JK Cement Works Fujairah FZC and JK White Cement (Africa) Ltd. Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Jaipur, Rajasthan, J.K. Cement has expanded its presence through technological leadership and customer orientation. Recent major developments include the approval of a ₹4,805 crore investment plan to increase production capacity by 7 million tons per annum through new greenfield units in Rajasthan and Punjab, involving a 4 million ton clinkerisation unit and a 3 million ton cement grinding facility. The company completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Saifco Cements, expanding its geographic reach into Jammu and Kashmir. J.K. Cement is also advancing capacity expansion projects targeting a grey cement capacity of 30 million tons per annum by FY 2025-26, with growth plans extending toward doubling capacity by FY 2030 via greenfield and brownfield expansions across several Indian states. Additionally, it is increasing its putty production capacity by 600,000 tons backed by an investment of ₹195 crore. Organizationally, J.K. Cement has enacted amalgamation of its wholly owned subsidiary Toshali Cements Pvt. Ltd. with itself and incorporated a wholly owned step-down subsidiary JK Drychem Industries LLC as part of strategic restructuring efforts. These moves underline the company's focus on consolidating market share and operational efficiency while maintaining leadership in cement manufacturing and allied building materials.
