Founded in 1935 and headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, Linde India Limited benefits from its parent's global expertise following the 2018 merger of Linde AG and Praxair Inc., with Linde plc holding a 75% stake. In recent developments, the company signed agreements in October 2024 to de-captivate two large air separation units under construction at Tata Steel Limited's Kalinganagar facility in Odisha, more than doubling on-site capacity with transfer expected in 2025, alongside a long-term supply contract for oxygen, nitrogen and argon to support Tata Steel's expansion and renewable energy agreements to reduce Scope 2 emissions. These initiatives enhance network density in key industrial clusters and align with strategic growth in sustainable industrial gas supply.
