- Vertis Infrastructure Trust is an India-based infrastructure investment trust (InvIT) established to acquire, own, operate, and manage a diversified portfolio of infrastructure assets across India. The Trust operates primarily within the energy, utilities, and transportation sectors, focusing on delivering stable, long-term yield generation and capital appreciation for unit holders through concession-backed and contract-based revenue models.
The Trust provides specialized infrastructure asset ownership, development, and operational management services, which include; acquisition, operation, and routine maintenance of utility-scale solar photovoltaic power projects and onshore wind energy generation plants; ownership and management of inter-state and intra-state electricity transmission systems, sub-stations, and grid-connectivity assets; implementation and operation of commercial and industrial distributed energy systems; operation and maintenance of toll road corridors and highway assets under hybrid annuity models (HAM) and build-operate-transfer (BOT) frameworks; technical asset monitoring, preventative maintenance, and vegetation management; power wheeling, transmission line capacity allocation, and substation interconnection services; and the administration of long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) and concession contracts with sovereign, public, and private off-takers.
Vertis Infrastructure Trust primarily serves state electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs), central transmission utilities, governmental highway authorities such as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), commercial and industrial power consumers, and municipal corporations across various states and union territories in India. The Trust functions under the regulatory oversight of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Infrastructure Investment Trusts Regulations, with dedicated oversight by an investment manager, project manager, and independent trustee.
In recent developments, Vertis Infrastructure Trust completed its listing on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) under the ticker symbol VERTIS, significantly broadening its capital base and institutional investor participation. Over the past two years, the Trust has executed strategic acquisitions of operational clean energy and road transportation assets to expand its portfolio scale and geographic reach, entered into new long-term power purchase agreements with corporate and state off-takers, completed debt restructuring and bond issuances to lower its overall cost of capital and extend debt maturity profiles, and upgraded its operational management systems with digital asset-monitoring platforms to enhance asset availability and efficiency across its operating special purpose vehicles (SPVs).
Vertis Infrastructure Trust was established in 2021 and is headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
