- Central Forest Group Co., Ltd. is a Japan-based holding company primarily engaged in the wholesale distribution, logistics processing, and supply chain management of food, alcoholic beverages, and consumer goods. Established in April 2019 through the management integration of regional food wholesale leaders Tokan Co., Ltd. and Kokubu Chubu Co., Ltd., the company is headquartered in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Operating across comprehensive commercial wholesale and logistics networks, Central Forest Group serves supermarkets, convenience stores, drugstores, department stores, restaurants, and institutional food service facilities throughout Japan, with a concentrated market presence across the Chubu, Tokai, and Hokuriku regions.
The company provides an extensive portfolio of products and value-added commercial services organized across core operational categories, including: ambient processed foods, comprising seasonings, edible oils, canned goods, dried foods, noodles, snacks, confectionery, and non-alcoholic beverages; temperature-controlled chilled and frozen foods, such as daily dairy goods, chilled delicatessen products, ready-to-eat meals, and frozen provisions; alcoholic beverages, spanning Japanese sake, beer, wine, whiskey, spirits, and shochu; commercial-grade food service ingredients and catering supplies designed for restaurants, hotels, hospitals, and elderly care facilities; and household sundries, kitchen consumables, and daily necessities. In addition to merchandising, Central Forest Group delivers end-to-end multi-temperature logistics and third-party warehousing services; distribution processing and precision delivery; retail merchandising consulting; data-driven consumer sales analytics and point-of-sale promotion design; and private-brand product planning, raw material sourcing, and food processing.
In recent strategic developments, Central Forest Group is actively advancing its Long-Term Strategy 2030, centered on transforming wholesale operations and expanding high-growth channels in commercial and institutional catering. Under this initiative, the group executed key strategic acquisitions through its core subsidiary Tokan Co., Ltd. in 2026, acquiring seafood processing manufacturer Shokuzai Co., Ltd. in June 2026 to enhance product development and marine food manufacturing capabilities, followed by the acquisition of institutional food distributor Itosho Co., Ltd. in August 2026 to strengthen supply pipelines for school lunch and industrial meal programs. Central Forest Group continues to integrate digital logistics infrastructure, optimize distribution routes, and enhance capital efficiency across its operating subsidiaries to expand regional market share.
