- BUA Cement Plc is a Nigeria-based industrial manufacturing company engaged in the production, marketing, and distribution of cement and clinker products across Nigeria and the broader West African region. The company operates integrated manufacturing facilities and provides a comprehensive portfolio of building material products, including Portland limestone cement (CEM II/A-L 42.5N) engineered for heavy structural works, reinforced concrete, civil engineering infrastructure, and high-rise developments; Portland composite cement (CEM II/B-L 32.5R) formulated for general-purpose construction, plastering, masonry, and block molding; high-early-strength Portland cement (CEM I 52.5N) for specialized infrastructure, bridges, precast concrete manufacturing, and marine applications; unground clinker for downstream industrial processing; bulk cement distributed via dedicated pneumatic tankers for ready-mix batching plants and major commercial contractors; and standard 50-kilogram bagged cement tailored for residential builders, retail consumers, and commercial distributors. Alongside its core manufacturing operations, the company provides technical advisory services, concrete mix design support, on-site quality testing, logistics coordination, and direct haulage distribution for commercial builders, government agencies, ready-mix concrete operators, and retail merchants. BUA Cement conducts its industrial manufacturing through two principal operating hubs comprising the Obu plant in Okpella, Edo State, and the Kalambaina plant in Sokoto State, supplying domestic markets across northern, central, and southern Nigeria while maintaining cross-border export channels into landlocked regional markets such as Niger and Burkina Faso. In recent major developments, the company expanded its total installed production capacity from 11 million metric tonnes per annum (mmtpa) to 17 mmtpa through the commercial commissioning of the 3 mmtpa Line 3 at the Obu manufacturing plant and the 3 mmtpa Line 5 at the Sokoto facility, supported by integrated multi-fuel and natural gas captive power generation installations. The company has also initiated preliminary execution on its Ososo Line 1 development and Sokoto liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification infrastructure designed to advance total capacity toward 20 mmtpa, strengthened its national logistics footprint by deploying an additional fleet of 500 bulk cement tankers, resumed cross-border overland exports to regional trade partners, and established a 24-hour customer service and dispatch center to optimize supply chain delivery. Incorporated in 2014 and consolidated through the corporate merger of the Cement Company of Northern Nigeria Plc and Obu Cement Company Plc under parent conglomerate BUA Group, BUA Cement Plc maintains its corporate headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.
