- Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals PLC is a Nigeria-based pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturing company engaged in the research, development, production, marketing, and distribution of human ethical pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter (OTC) consumer healthcare formulations, and veterinary products. Founded in 1957 as Pfizer Products Plc and established in its current corporate structure in 1997 following a management buyout of Pfizer Inc.'s Nigerian operations, the company is headquartered in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. Neimeth operates through two principal business segments: Pharmaceuticals and Animal Health. The company's human pharmaceutical portfolio includes ethical prescription medications such as Amlovar (amlodipine besylate) for cardiovascular hypertension management; Co-Amoxiclav and Necotrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) broad-spectrum antibacterial therapies; Unaben (albendazole) anthelmintics; and Gasmag magnesium-aluminum antacid formulations. In the consumer healthcare and nutritional wellness category, the company manufactures and markets Ciklavit, a proprietary plant-derived nutritional supplement formulated for the clinical management of sickle cell disorder; Homtamin G, an anti-stress daily multivitamin and mineral formulation incorporating Korean Panax ginseng and royal jelly; Obron-6, a specialized maternal multivitamin and mineral supplement; Pancemol paracetamol-based analgesics and antipyretics; and NCP liquid antiseptic, germicidal, and disinfectant solutions. The Animal Health division produces and supplies poultry and livestock anthelmintics, antiparasitic formulations, water-soluble vitamin-mineral powders, and production-enhancing feed additives, including the Pyrantrin veterinary brand. Neimeth distributes its products to retail pharmacies, private healthcare providers, public hospital systems, livestock operations, and agricultural distributors across Nigeria through regional distribution hubs, while maintaining export distribution throughout the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) region, including Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia. In recent operational developments, Neimeth is executing a strategic infrastructure expansion comprising the construction of a World Health Organization (WHO) current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP)-compliant multi-product manufacturing facility in Amawbia, Anambra State, designed to expand localized solid dosage and liquid production capacity. To fund its infrastructure projects, retire debt obligations, and strengthen operational liquidity, the company completed a N2.44 billion rights issue and secured shareholder authorization for an aggregate N50 billion recapitalization program via equity and structured financial instruments, alongside a balance sheet reorganization reclassifying N1.99 billion from share premium to retained earnings.
