- Oclaro, Inc. (OCLR) designs, manufactures and markets optical components, modules and subsystems for telecommunications, datacom and industrial laser applications; its core offerings include indium phosphide-based lasers, tunable lasers, external modulators, integrated lasers and modulators, receivers, transceivers, transponders and coherent pluggable solutions supporting 100 Gb/s, 200 Gb/s and 400 Gb/s rates for metro, long-haul and data center networks. Founded in 2004 and formerly headquartered in San Jose, California, the company operated globally with wafer fabrication facilities in the UK, Japan and Italy, serving equipment makers for core optical transport, service provider, enterprise and high-speed interconnect markets. Oclaro was acquired by Lumentum Holdings Inc. in December 2018 for $1.8 billion in a cash-and-stock deal that expanded Lumentum's photonics portfolio in coherent optics and datacom, leading to OCLR's delisting from NASDAQ and full integration into Lumentum's operations, including divestiture of certain Oclaro Japan transceiver lines to Cambridge Industries Group in 2019. Lumentum continues to offer former Oclaro products such as DWDM and coherent optical transceivers under its best-in-class photonics lineup.
