PJSC Gazprom engages in the geological exploration and production of natural gas, gas condensate and oil; transportation, processing and underground storage of gas; refining of hydrocarbon feedstock; sales of gas, stable gas condensate, oil and refined products; and generation and marketing of heat and electric power through its subsidiaries including Gazprom Neft for oil production. The company, founded in 1989 and headquartered in the Lakhta Center in Saint Petersburg, Russia, operates the world's largest gas transmission system spanning Russia and exports to over 100 countries with significant presence in Europe, Asia, and the former Soviet states prior to recent market shifts. It maintains proven reserves of approximately 35 trillion cubic meters of natural gas and produces through key fields in the Yamal Peninsula, Nadym-Pur-Taz region and via pipelines such as Power of Siberia to China and TurkStream to Turkey. Recent developments include a strategic partnership agreement with PJSC Lukoil for 2025-2030 covering exploration, production, transportation and processing of hydrocarbons; approval of a 1.52 trillion ruble investment program for 2025 focused on expanding gas production in eastern Russia and the Yamal Peninsula, enhancing Power of Siberia capacity and advancing the Eastern Gas Supply System; and discussions with China National Petroleum Corporation on future gas supplies alongside a relocation of its head office to Saint Petersburg in 2024.
