Founded in 1965 through the merger of Pepsi-Cola Company and Frito-Lay, Inc., the company is headquartered in Purchase, New York. In recent developments, PepsiCo completed the acquisition of poppi, a fast-growing prebiotic soda brand, for $1.95 billion in May 2025 to accelerate its positive choices growth strategy and enhance functional beverage offerings; acquired Siete Foods for $1.2 billion in October 2024 to expand into plant-based and multicultural snacks; and strengthened its strategic partnership with Celsius Holdings in August 2025 by integrating the Alani Nu brand into its distribution system, acquiring convertible preferred stock and exchanging the Rockstar Energy brand in the U.S. and Canada. The company continues to innovate with launches such as Propel Protein Water, Gatorade Lower Sugar, Pepsi Prebiotic, Doritos and Cheetos NKD using avocado or olive oils, and protein-enriched Quaker and PopCorners products to target health-conscious consumers and grow its permissible snack portfolio beyond $2 billion. PepsiCo maintains a focus on portfolio transformation, reformulating products for reduced sugar and sodium while expanding e-commerce and direct-to-consumer channels amid its pep+ sustainability initiative.
