Business
Greenergy Holdings Incorporated is a Philippines-based investment holding company engaged in the development, operation, and financing of sustainable infrastructure, renewable energy projects, agribusiness, biotechnology, and financial technology services. Founded on January 29, 1992, as MUSX Corporation and headquartered in Makati City, Philippines, the company operates across several core business segments: Renewable Energy, Information Technology and Financial Technology, Agriculture and Agri-Tourism, Green Infrastructure and Waste Management, and Biotechnology. Through its operating subsidiaries and affiliates—primarily Winsun Green Ventures, Inc. (WGVI) and U-Pay Digital Technologies, Inc.—the company provides a diversified portfolio of products and solutions comprising the development, engineering, procurement, construction, and operation of solar photovoltaic systems, wind power installations, biomass facilities, and small hydroelectric plants; commercial, industrial, and residential rooftop and ground-mounted solar power systems; battery energy storage systems (BESS); digital financial solutions and electronic money services under the U-Pay platform, including e-wallet systems, digital payment gateway integration, remittance processing, electronic load distribution, and value-added telecommunications services; smart agriculture management, fresh produce logistics, and eco-tourism real estate estate development; municipal and commercial solid waste recovery, recycling facility management, and green tunnel boring infrastructure; and the research, processing, and distribution of medicinal hemp extracts, cannabidiol (CBD) oils, and related wellness formulations. The company primarily caters to municipal local government units, utility providers, commercial enterprises, real estate developers, and retail digital consumers across the Philippines, with select biotechnology interests in the Asia-Pacific region. In recent corporate and operational developments, Greenergy Holdings has prioritized the expansion of its clean energy generation portfolio and streamlined its business holdings. Following regulatory approval from the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission for a PHP 480 million capital stock subscription into its subsidiary Winsun Green Ventures, Inc., the company secured the necessary equity funding to fast-track its pipeline of renewable energy infrastructure. Expanding its geographic footprint, WGVI obtained formal acceptance from the City Government of Caloocan for an unsolicited solar power public-private initiative and entered into a strategic consortium partnership to supply and install solar power systems for a sustainable master-planned residential community in Bacolod City. In line with its portfolio optimization strategy, Greenergy mutually terminated a planned PHP 1.5 billion joint venture for a food terminal and logistics hub in Batangas to concentrate capital on core clean energy and digital assets. Furthermore, the company has undergone significant corporate governance adjustments, including board room transitions and the management of shareholder ownership realignments.
