Business
Petron Corporation is the largest integrated oil refining and marketing company in the Philippines, engaged in the refining of crude oil and the marketing and distribution of refined petroleum products and petrochemicals. The company operates through two main business segments: Petroleum and All Other. Its comprehensive product portfolio comprises automotive and industrial fuels, including premium and unleaded gasoline marketed under the Blaze 100, XCS, and Xtra Advance brands; automotive and industrial diesel marketed under Turbo Diesel and Diesel Max; liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sold under the Gasul and Fiesta Gas brands; aviation fuels, including Jet A-1 and aviation gasoline; kerosene; asphalt products; and petrochemicals such as benzene, toluene, mixed xylene, and propylene. In addition, the company formulates and manufactures automotive and industrial lubricants, greases, and specialty fluids, including the Rev X and Petron Sprint engine oil lines, as well as aftermarket performance additives under the Petromate brand. Petron serves a diverse customer base across retail motor vehicle operators, commercial transportation, aviation, maritime shipping, manufacturing, mining, agriculture, and power generation sectors. The company operates the sole integrated crude oil refinery in the Philippines, located in Limay, Bataan, with a rated crude processing capacity of 180,000 barrels per day, alongside an 88,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Port Dickson, Malaysia, delivering a combined refining capacity of 268,000 barrels per day. Its extensive distribution infrastructure encompasses over 2,000 retail service stations in the Philippines, more than 750 stations in Malaysia, a network of over 30 marine storage terminals and inland fuel depots, and a dedicated lube oil blending plant. Tracing its origins to 1933 with the establishment of the Standard Vacuum Oil Company, Petron Corporation is headquartered in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, and operates as a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation. In recent operational and financial developments, Petron has executed significant capital optimization and network growth initiatives. The company completed a 32 billion Philippine peso fixed-rate bond issuance on the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corp. across Series G, H, and I to refinance maturing debt obligations and optimize its capital structure, supplemented by a 550 million US dollar senior perpetual bond offering in Singapore. Operationally, Petron expanded its retail service station footprint and LPG dealership network across regional growth corridors, implemented yield and energy efficiency enhancements across its Bataan and Port Dickson refining assets, expanded related-party supply chain and commodity trading operations through its subsidiary Petron Singapore Trading Pte. Ltd., and accelerated environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs focused on expanding cleaner Euro 6-compliant fuel production, reducing greenhouse gas intensity, and enhancing industrial wastewater treatment.
