Business
Pacer Swan SOS Moderate (July) ETF (PSMJ) is an exchange-traded fund that employs a structured outcome strategy to deliver specific investment outcomes based on the performance of the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) over a defined 12-month outcome period; it provides investors with participation in SPY upside gains up to an annual cap, currently set at 12.20% before fees and expenses for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, while offering a buffer against the first 15% of SPY losses during that period, with investors bearing any losses beyond the buffer. The fund invests substantially all of its assets in customizable FLEX Options referencing SPY, which are exchange-traded option contracts guaranteed by the Options Clearing Corporation; it holds these options alongside collateral to implement the defined-risk profile targeting large-cap U.S. equity exposure for retail and institutional investors seeking volatility mitigation. PSMJ operates within the defined outcome ETF segment, focusing on U.S. markets through its reference to the S&P 500 Index. Pacer ETFs, the issuer and sponsor based in Malvern, Pennsylvania, launched the broader Pacer Swan SOS ETF series in December 2020, with PSMJ specifically introduced around June 30, 2021; Swan Global Management, LLC, a sub-adviser headquartered in Durango, Colorado, oversees the portfolio implementation drawing from its Defined Risk Strategy expertise. In July 2025, Pacer ETFs announced updates to the July series—including PSMJ alongside sister funds Pacer Swan SOS Conservative (July) ETF (PSCJ) and Pacer Swan SOS Flex (July) ETF (PSFJ)—resetting caps, buffers, and outcome periods to align with current market conditions amid heightened volatility, reflecting ongoing strategic adjustments to enhance investor risk-management options. The firm, which manages over $39 billion in assets across 47 ETFs as of June 30, 2025, continues to expand its structured outcome offerings without reported recent acquisitions, funding rounds, or major reorganizations specific to PSMJ.
