Business
Persimmon Plc operates as a leading UK housebuilder, designing, developing and constructing new homes across the country through its three core brands: Persimmon Homes, which delivers traditional family housing; Charles Church, which provides higher-specification premium homes; and Westbury Partnerships, which focuses on affordable social housing for housing associations and build-to-rent partners. The company also leverages vertical integration via off-site manufacturing facilities including Space4 for timber frames, insulated wall panels and roof cassettes; Brickworks for concrete bricks; and Tileworks for concrete roof tiles, alongside historic broadband services under FibreNest. Founded in 1972 and headquartered in York, England, Persimmon maintains 29 regional offices nationwide, from North Scotland to South West England, with owned and controlled land holdings of approximately 82,500 plots supporting 7.7 years of supply at recent volumes. Persimmon targets private buyers, first-time purchasers, institutional investors and housing associations, emphasizing affordable, quality homes in sustainable communities with five-star Home Builders Federation ratings and high Trustpilot scores. In recent developments, the company reports first-half 2025 completions of 4,605 homes, up 4% year-on-year, with underlying operating profit rising 13% to £172 million on robust private sales rates of 0.70 per outlet per week and average selling prices up 8% to £284,047; it launched the New Build Boost shared equity product, relaunched Charles Church with 20% private completion growth, expanded sales outlets to 277 en route to 300, added 5,729 plots to land holdings for a 124% replacement rate, secured planning on 5,066 plots, and completed the FibreNest sale to BUUK Infrastructure for up to £100 million to fund core growth.
