Business
Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited is a Pakistan-based diversified industrial conglomerate primarily engaged in the manufacturing of large-diameter submerged arc welded steel pipes, application of protective pipe coatings, production of steel billets, spinning of cotton yarn, and strategic investment management. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, the company operates across five core business segments: Steel, Steel Billet, Textile, Investment and Infrastructure Development, and Energy. The Steel segment manufactures longitudinal submerged arc welded (LSAW) and helical/spiral submerged arc welded (HSAW) steel pipes conforming to API 5L and international specifications for high-pressure oil, gas, and water transmission infrastructure; applies external multi-layer protective coatings, including three-layer polyethylene (3LPE), three-layer polypropylene (3LPP), single-layer fusion-bonded epoxy (FBE), and dual-layer fusion-bonded epoxy; and provides internal liquid epoxy flow-efficiency linings as well as custom pipe fabrication services. The Steel Billet segment produces prime-grade continuous cast steel billets utilized by domestic re-rolling mills and civil construction contractors. The Textile segment operates spinning mills producing carded, combed, and blended cotton yarns for domestic weaving, apparel, and home textile manufacturers. The Energy and Investment segments encompass captive power generation, renewable solar assets, and a diversified investment portfolio spanning industrial equities and financial instruments. The company primarily serves state-owned and private oil and gas transmission utilities, municipal water management authorities, civil infrastructure developers, and textile fabricators across Pakistan. In recent developments, Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited has accelerated the deployment of on-site captive solar photovoltaic installations across its manufacturing facilities in Bhitshah, Nooriabad, and Jaranwala to lower unit energy costs and advance decarbonization targets. The company has also completed technological modernization and quality automation enhancements on its high-diameter pipe coating lines to cater to upcoming national hydrocarbon transmission expansions and large-scale bulk water supply infrastructure projects, while actively restructuring operational workflows and raw material procurement across its steel melting and textile spinning divisions to preserve margin stability amidst volatile commodity cycles.
