Business
Faisal Spinning Mills Limited is a Pakistan-based textile manufacturing company primarily engaged in the production and sale of yarn, woven fabrics, and home textile products, as well as the generation of electricity for internal industrial consumption. Established in 1985 and operating as a core constituent of the Umer Group of Companies, the company conducts integrated spinning, weaving, and textile processing operations serving domestic apparel manufacturers, industrial converters, and international export markets across Asia, Europe, and North America. Headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, the company operates manufacturing plants situated in Nooriabad, Sindh, and Ferozewatwan, Punjab. The company operates through three principal business segments: Spinning, Weaving, and Power Generation. The company's comprehensive product and service portfolio includes spinning solutions comprising 100% carded and combed cotton yarn, compact yarn, ring-spun yarn, rotor and open-end yarn, slub yarn, core-spun stretch yarn, Siro yarn, and blended synthetic and cellulosic yarns such as modal and polyester-cotton blends; fabric manufacturing comprising greige fabric, bleached fabric, dyed fabric, twills, satins, drills, poplins, stretch woven fabrics, and specialty dobby weaves; home textile products comprising bed sheets, fitted sheets, duvet and quilt covers, pillowcases, and institutional flat linen; and energy operations comprising captive thermal, solar, and wind electricity generation systems deployed to power its manufacturing facilities. In recent developments, Faisal Spinning Mills Limited has executed significant operational and strategic initiatives aimed at energy transition, cost rationalization, and production modernization. To mitigate elevated grid utility tariffs and enhance operational sustainability, the company commissioned a 4.80 MW wind power generation facility at its Unit-I site in Nooriabad, Sindh, entering commercial utilization in 2025. Complementing its wind energy infrastructure, the company has progressively expanded on-site rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems across its production facilities. In addition, the company has undertaken ongoing balancing, modernization, and replacement (BMR) capital expenditure programs to upgrade its high-speed automated spinning frames and wide-width air-jet weaving looms, optimizing yarn counts, reducing production waste, and enhancing fabric finishing capabilities for value-added export clients.
