Burj Clean Energy Modaraba (PSX: GEMBCEM) is a Pakistan-based Islamic green energy investment fund and renewable power asset manager that develops, finances, owns, and operates distributed renewable energy infrastructure for commercial and industrial clients. Headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, and managed by Burj Modaraba Management Company Limited—an affiliate of clean energy investment platform Burj Capital—the Modaraba was established in 2021 as a perpetual, multipurpose Islamic financial institution and represents one of the pioneering clean energy financing vehicles listed on the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) Board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The entity operates across Pakistan's renewable energy and Islamic finance sectors, offering specialized green energy products and services comprising: turnkey commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems; long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and solar lease structures; Shariah-compliant energy financing arrangements, including Ijarah (leasing) and Diminishing Musharakah (participatory financing); captive distributed power generation and energy storage integration; industrial energy audits and clean energy advisory services; and post-installation asset management, performance monitoring, and operations and maintenance (O&M) services. The Modaraba serves mid-to-large-scale industrial enterprises across sectors such as textiles, pharmaceuticals, food processing, logistics, and manufacturing, facilitating corporate decarbonization and protection against rising national grid electricity tariffs. In recent corporate and operational developments, Burj Clean Energy Modaraba has scaled its operational capacity by executing multi-megawatt solar PPA contracts across key industrial clusters in Punjab and Sindh, expanded its pipeline of distributed generation projects, forged strategic procurement partnerships with Tier-1 solar equipment manufacturers, and strengthened its Shariah-compliant financing syndications to support ongoing capital expenditure in clean energy infrastructure.
