Business
Orient Rental Modaraba is a Pakistan-based Islamic financial institution and equipment solutions provider primarily engaged in delivering Shari'ah-compliant asset rental (Ijarah) and comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services. Established in 2017 through the spin-off of the power rental and servicing divisions of Orient Energy Systems (Pvt.) Limited, the Modaraba is managed by Eman Management (Private) Limited and is headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, with branch operations in Lahore and nationwide service infrastructure. Listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange under the ticker ORM, the company caters to a diverse corporate client base across the textile, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, fast-moving consumer goods, infrastructure construction, and commercial real estate sectors. The company operates through two core business segments: Ijarah Rentals and Operations and Maintenance Services. Its primary products and service solutions comprise prime, continuous, and standby power generation equipment rentals, including natural gas, diesel, and heavy fuel oil generator sets from brands such as INNIO Jenbacher, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Waukesha; power infrastructure and distribution equipment, including resistive and reactive load banks, step-up transformers, medium-to-low voltage switchgear, and high-capacity power cabling; heavy construction and earthmoving machinery, including hydraulic excavators, motor graders, and compaction units; material handling and industrial mobility fleet, including diesel and electric forklifts, reach stackers, and specialized commercial transport vehicles; comprehensive plant operations and maintenance services, featuring 24/7 on-site technical monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, predictive diagnostics, component overhauls, and genuine spare parts supply; facilities management and utilities infrastructure solutions, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC-R) maintenance, absorption and vapor-compression chillers, and industrial boilers; and specialized water processing management, including reverse osmosis plant operations, wastewater treatment, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering. In recent developments, Orient Rental Modaraba has actively executed a strategic realignment to expand its asset-light Operations and Maintenance business, growing its managed operational capacity to over 300 megawatts across more than 125 industrial and commercial sites nationwide. In response to regional grid tariffs and energy transition dynamics, the company has broadened its technical service portfolio to encompass renewable energy asset management, introducing specialized operations and maintenance contracts for commercial and industrial rooftop solar photovoltaic installations and advancing into turnkey battery energy storage system rental solutions. The Modaraba has concurrently expanded its top-line revenue beyond PKR 2.4 billion through the targeted deployment of high-efficiency gas-fired assets, underpinned by the ongoing affirmation of its A- long-term entity credit rating with a stable outlook by the Pakistan Credit Rating Agency.
