Business
American Century Quality Convertible Securities ETF (QCON) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund launched by American Century ETF Trust and managed by American Century Investment Management Inc. The fund seeks total return by investing at least 80% of its net assets in convertible securities, including debt securities, bonds, and preferred stocks that are convertible into common stock or other equity securities of the issuing companies; it employs fundamental and quantitative analysis to select high-quality, growth-oriented names across diversified sectors, balancing beta exposure, industry diversification, and attractive structural features for optimized risk-adjusted returns. Top holdings include convertible securities from issuers such as Wells Fargo & Co, Bank of America Corp, Seagate HDD Cayman, Boeing Co, and Axon Enterprise Inc. The fund, which is non-diversified, benchmarks its performance against the ICE BofA U.S. Convertible Index and Russell 3000 Index, with a gross expense ratio of 0.32% and monthly dividend frequency. In a major strategic change announced in July 2025, American Century Investments decided to close and liquidate QCON, alongside the American Century Quality Preferred ETF (QPFF); trading ceased on the Cboe BZX Exchange on September 8, 2025, with final asset distributions to remaining shareholders on or about September 15, 2025. Prior to liquidation, the fund deviated from its normal investment objectives to prepare for distributions. No recent partnerships, acquisitions, funding rounds, or new product launches were reported in the last 1-2 years. QCON targets investors seeking exposure to the convertible securities segment of public equity and fixed income markets, including growth and value stocks across diversified market capitalizations and high-yield securities where applicable. The fund operates primarily in U.S. dollar-denominated securities of U.S. companies listed on U.S. exchanges. Launched on February 16, 2021, it is part of the American Century ETF Trust under American Century Investments, a global asset manager founded in 1958 and headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, with additional offices in the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
