Qantas Airways Limited is Australia's largest airline and flag carrier, providing passenger and freight air transportation services domestically and internationally through its Qantas and Jetstar brands; core offerings include scheduled regional, domestic and long-haul flights, low-cost carrier services via Jetstar, air cargo via Qantas Freight, and loyalty programs through Qantas Loyalty. The company operates a modern fleet comprising Airbus A380s, Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Airbus A330s, Boeing 737s, Airbus A320 family aircraft, and newer additions such as A220s and A321XLRs, serving over 60 domestic destinations in Australia and international routes across Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Africa, and Antarctica from hubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. Founded in 1920 and headquartered in Mascot, New South Wales, Qantas conducts operations primarily in Australia, New Zealand, Asia-Pacific and global long-haul markets, with subsidiaries including Jetstar Airways, QantasLink, Qantas Freight and stakes in other regional carriers. Recent developments include ordering 20 additional Airbus A321XLR aircraft in 2025 with lie-flat business seats for transcontinental and medium-haul routes; launching Project Sunrise with Airbus A350-1000ULR deliveries from 2026 for non-stop ultra-long-haul flights to New York and London; partnering with Airbus and Climate Tech Partners in 2025 on a A$15 million fund for sustainable aviation fuel technologies; expanding trans-Tasman capacity with the first international A220 services; and delivering 17 new aircraft in FY25 alongside fleet modernization investments for improved efficiency and sustainability.
