VanEck Real Assets ETF (RAAX) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks long-term total return by maximizing real returns while reducing downside risk during sustained market declines. The Fund primarily invests in exchange-traded products providing exposure to real assets, including resource assets such as commodities and natural resource equities; income assets such as real estate investment trusts, infrastructure, and master limited partnerships; and gold, including gold mining equities; and may allocate up to 100% to cash or cash equivalents. As of December 2025, top holdings include VanEck Merk Gold Shares (OUNZ) at 23.09%, VanEck Commodity Strategy ETF (PIT) at 19.00%, Global X U.S. Infrastructure Development ETF (PAVE) at 11.63%, and VanEck Energy Income ETF (EINC) at 9.35%, among others representing sectors like energy, materials, residential real estate, uranium and nuclear energy, and natural resources. Launched on April 9, 2018, and headquartered in New York, New York, through issuer VanEck, the ETF targets investors seeking inflation protection and portfolio diversification across global markets via domestic and international underlying exposures.
In June 2021, the Fund underwent a significant name change from VanEck Inflation Allocation ETF (or VanEck Real Asset Allocation ETF) to its current designation as VanEck Real Assets ETF, reflecting an evolution in branding and strategic emphasis. On January 31, 2020, it adopted the Bloomberg Commodity Index as its broad-based benchmark, replacing the prior Blended Real Asset Index for improved representation of commodities exposure. The Fund maintains an annual distribution policy, with the most recent ex-dividend date on December 27, 2024, paying $0.5397 per share, and continues to adapt allocations dynamically to inflationary regimes and risk environments without issuing K-1 tax forms.
