Business
Restaurant Brands Asia Limited operates quick service restaurant chains under Burger King and Popeyes brands; it develops, establishes, owns, operates, and franchises Burger King restaurants across India and both Burger King and Popeyes restaurants in Indonesia. Core products and services encompass flame-grilled burgers including Veg Whopper, Crispy Veg Burger, Crispy Chicken Burger, Cheese Meltdown, Fiery Chicken Burger, and Paneer Overload Burger; chicken offerings such as Chicken Fries and Veggie Strips; sides like Fries, Hashbrown, and Veg Crunchy Volcano; rice items including Veg Peri Peri Rice; and desserts like Chocolate Mousse Cup, alongside breakfast menus, cravers, beverages, and value combos. The company, founded in 2013 and headquartered in Mumbai, India, serves urban consumers in over 50 cities across India and major Indonesian markets through approximately 681 restaurants, with subsidiaries PT Sari Burger Indonesia and PT Sari Chicken Indonesia holding master franchise rights. Formerly Burger King India Limited, it rebranded to Restaurant Brands Asia Limited in February 2022 and strengthened control by acquiring a majority stake in Burger King Indonesia, elevating it to 87.75% ownership. Recent developments include the appointment of Arijit Datta as chief financial officer in 2025, issuance of 150,000 new equity shares under an employee stock option scheme to enhance ownership alignment, ongoing store additions and new menu value offerings in India amid narrowing quarterly losses, and store optimization in Indonesia without near-term expansion plans for either brand.
