- Emles Real Estate Credit ETF (REC) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive U.S. Real Estate Bond Index, a market value weighted index designed to measure the performance of corporate bonds issued by U.S. companies in the real estate sector. The ETF invests in a portfolio of corporate fixed-rate real estate bonds with strong financials and high credit quality, including top holdings such as Service Properties Trust 4.35% due October 2024, Welltower Inc. 4.25% due April 2026, Realty Income Corporation 4.625% due November 2025, Crown Castle Inc. 1.05% due July 2026, and Select Income REIT 4.5% due February 2025; it aims to provide income and diversification through exposure to bonds issued by real estate companies, focusing on investment-grade and high-yield debt from sectors like office, infrastructure, specialty real estate, and REITs. REC operates exclusively in the U.S. fixed income market, targeting investors seeking real estate credit exposure with an expense ratio of 0.48% and assets concentrated in its top 15 holdings representing over 100% of the portfolio due to its focused structure.
REC was launched on October 15, 2020, and is issued by Emles Trust under the management of Emles Advisors LLC, an investment firm founded in 2012 with roots tracing to 2004 from the family office of SteelPath and Alerian founder Gabriel Hammond, and headquartered in New York City. Emles Advisors LLC, led by CEO Gabriel Hammond and CFO Dave Saxena, specializes in creating access to unique asset classes across public and private markets, including venture capital, infrastructure, and real estate development. The firm operates from locations including New York and Dallas, Texas, providing ETF solutions for retail, advisor, and institutional clients.
In September 2022, Emles Advisors announced the liquidation and closure of REC along with five other ETFs—Emles @Home ETF (LIV), Emles Alpha Opportunities ETF (EOPS), Emles Federal Contractors ETF (FEDX), Emles Luxury Goods ETF (LUXE), and Emles Made in America ETF (AMER)—due to insufficient assets under management, with the decision approved by the Board of Trustees as in the best interest of shareholders. Despite this closure announcement, REC continues to trade actively on NYSE Arca as of late 2025, maintaining a portfolio of real estate bonds, shares outstanding of approximately 100,000, and recent performance reflecting year-to-date declines amid broader fixed income pressures. No recent partnerships, acquisitions, funding rounds, new product launches, or strategic expansions specific to REC or Emles Advisors have been reported in 2024 or 2025.
