Business
Simplify Bond Bull ETF (RFIX) is an actively managed exchange-traded fund that seeks to hedge against falling long-term U.S. interest rates, benefit from increased fixed income volatility during market stress, and generate income potential through a proprietary options-based strategy. The fund primarily invests in long-term expiry (5-year to 7-year) over-the-counter (OTC) interest rate options, such as receiver swaptions, designed to deliver direct, transparent, and convex exposure to downward moves in interest rates; this approach functions similarly to long-dated call options on U.S. Treasury bonds, maximizing positive convexity while minimizing time decay. Launched by Simplify Asset Management Inc. in December 2024 and traded on NYSE Arca, RFIX targets investors seeking capital-efficient duration exposure and a bullish stance on bonds, serving financial advisors, institutional clients, and retail investors in the fixed income alternatives segment. In February 2025, the fund underwent a name change from Simplify Downside Interest Rate Hedge Strategy ETF to Simplify Bond Bull ETF to better align with its strategy of profiting from declining Treasury yields, while retaining its ticker symbol (RFIX), investment objective, and approach. Simplify Asset Management announced this rebranding shortly after launch, by which time RFIX had amassed approximately $100 million in assets under management, reflecting strong initial investor interest. More recently, in September 2025, Simplify entered a letter of intent with Streamex Corp. (NASDAQ: STEX) for a strategic partnership to integrate tokenized yield-bearing gold into ETF structures, potentially expanding product offerings through blockchain-enabled commodity-backed ETPs/ETFs, subject to definitive agreements and regulatory approval. Simplify Asset Management Inc., the fund's investment adviser and a registered entity with the SEC, was founded in 2020 and is headquartered at 10845 Griffith Peak Drive, Suite 200, Las Vegas, Nevada, with additional operational presence in New York, New York. The firm specializes in innovative, options-based ETFs to enhance portfolio convexity, risk management, and diversification for advisors tackling real-world market challenges; it manages over $10 billion in assets across its ETF lineup as of September 2025. RFIX complements Simplify's broader suite, including the mirror-image Simplify Interest Rate Hedge ETF (PFIX) for rising rate protection, with operations focused on the U.S. market.
