AXS Real Estate Income ETF (RINC) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to track the performance of the Gapstow Real Estate Income Index (GREI), comprising common stocks of U.S. publicly traded mortgage real estate investment trusts (mREITs) focused on commercial and residential mortgages and mortgage-backed securities. The fund provides diversified exposure to commercial mREITs (50% target allocation), agency residential mREITs (25%), and non-agency residential mREITs (25%), with quarterly rebalancing and equal weighting within sectors for constituents exceeding $500 million in market capitalization; it offers monthly distributions targeting high yields as an alternative to high-yield corporate bonds. AXS Investments LLC serves as the investment adviser, with portfolio managers Parker Binion and Travis Trampe overseeing daily operations, while Gapstow Capital Partners, a New York-based index provider founded in 2009, develops and manages the GREI index.
Launched on the NYSE Arca exchange on August 28, 2023, following a reorganization from the predecessor High Yield ETF (HYLD; originally incepted November 30, 2010), RINC shifted from active management of high-yield debt securities to passive tracking of the mREIT-focused GREI index, which began live calculation on May 24, 2022. The fund, issued through Investment Managers Series Trust II and domiciled in the United States, maintains a net expense ratio of 0.89% (after fee waivers) and approximately $34 million in assets under management as of mid-2025.
In a significant operational change announced in 2025, RINC will cease operations, liquidate its assets, and distribute proceeds to shareholders of record around September 25, 2025, with the last trading day on September 18, 2025; options trading faced delayed settlement through late September 2025. No major partnerships, acquisitions, or new product launches have been reported in the last 1-2 years beyond the 2023 reorganization and launch. The ETF targets investors seeking income from U.S. real estate credit markets, with holdings including Ladder Capital Corp, TPG RE Finance Trust, Chimera Investment Corp, and AGNC Investment Corp, among approximately 27 positions.
