Business
Sit Rising Rate ETF (RISE) seeks to profit from rising interest rates through an actively managed portfolio of exchange-traded futures contracts and options on U.S. Treasury securities, including short positions in futures on 2-, 5-, and 10-year Treasurys; it invests primarily in the U.S. fixed income derivatives markets and benchmarks performance indirectly against indices such as the Barclays U.S. Treasury Bellwether 30-Year Index. The ETF trades on NYSE Arca and targets investors seeking interest rate hedges amid economic environments with potential rate hikes. Launched on February 19, 2015, as part of ETF Managers Group Commodity Trust I, it was originally sponsored by ETF Managers Capital LLC, with advisory services from Sit Fixed Income Advisors II, LLC, a subsidiary of Sit Investment Associates, Inc., and headquartered in the United States. In October 2020, ETF Managers Capital LLC announced the closure and liquidation of the Sit Rising Rate ETF due to unfavorable market conditions and low asset size, suspending trading after October 30, 2020, and distributing cash proceeds to remaining shareholders by mid-November 2020. Despite this liquidation, the RISE ticker has reappeared in recent trading data as of late 2025, with shares quoted around $19.95 and a market cap of approximately $2.99 million, suggesting a potential relaunch or revival under new sponsorship arrangements, though specific details on issuers or strategic changes post-2020 remain limited in public disclosures. The ETF maintains a focus on U.S. markets with no noted international operations or subsidiaries.
